Access Requests
To gain NEDSS access, users must complete required trainings in the NEDSS training environment. Upon successful completion of training, DSHS will grant access to the NEDSS production (live) environment for TB.
Follow these steps:
- Submit a request for NEDSS using the TB Database Access Requests online form:
- Complete the Notice of Change of TB Personnel Form. Enter information as prompted.
- Complete the TB/HIV/STD Data Security and Confidentiality training and save certificate of completion to the desktop.
- Log onto the TB Database Access Requests online form. Enter information as prompted.
- Review the Texas Texas NEDSS User Guide for Tuberculosis Programs to determine required level of access (refer to page 4, Table 1).
- Upload the TB/HIV/STD Data Security and Confidentiality training certificate in the last box.
- Wait for an email with next steps or corrections needed, and/or training environment credentials.
- Once user receives their training environment credentials, use the training environment to follow along with NEDSS Training Courses for Regional and Local Health Departments courses 1-6.
- After viewing each course, complete the assessment questionnaire using the links provided in the email from step#2.
- User must score 100% on each assessment. The user must ensure their name and email are entered correctly on the first page of the assessment.
- Upon successfully completing each assessment, user will receive an email with a certificate of completion. Save these certificates.
- Once the user has collected certificates for all six courses, submit a NEDSS Support Helpdesk ticket, selecting "TB Training Completion" as the TB Category for the ticket. Upload all TB completion certificates to the helpdesk ticket where prompted.
