2025 Laboratory Renovation

An important message from 
Dr. Kubin, Director PHLD

Beginning February 15, 2025, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Public Health Laboratory building in Austin, Texas, will undergo critical generator updates and repairs. These renovations are expected to continue through late spring 2025.

During this time, the Laboratory will have a series of brief, full and partial weekend shut downs. We do not anticipate any changes in processes for our submitters during this time.

Due to the nature of the repairs and the coordination required to complete the renovation, some testing services may be temporarily delayed.
