Data for Congenital Syphilis

Professionals use data on CS to make decisions.  Planners, public health professionals, policymakers, and other community partners at local and state levels use data about how CS spreads, how many women of childbearing age have syphilis, and underlying factors which may contribute to CS.

These reports include diagnoses of CS and syphilis cases among women of childbearing age in Texas. Cases analyzed met the CDC and Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) rules for counting cases, which may differ from clinical diagnoses.

Starting in 2024, DSHS began creating dashboards to help these users visualize data. Visualizations help users see real differences between groups and factors related to differences.
