Screening Amenable Cancers

Regular cancer screening is an effective way to reduce the burden of specific cancers. Screening is a check for cancer or abnormal cells that may become cancer in people who have no symptoms. It helps find cancer at an early stage when it is easiest to treat and the survival rate is highest. It can also help detect precancerous conditions that can be treated before turning into cancer. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force currently recommends screenings for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers for the general public based on age.
