The Medical and Research Library, part of the DSHS Library and Information Science Program, serves researchers, counselors, and medical practitioners working with the Texas Health and Human Services enterprise. Research support and general health-related information is also provided to HHS employees and other state employees.

The MRL provides access to two EBSCO databases, AP PsycINFO and CINAHL Complete. AP PsycINFO indexes peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. CINAHL Complete indexes articles from 5,400 journals in the fields of nursing, biomedical, allied health and consumer health.
