Internship Applications

Thank you for your interest in DSHS internships. The Summer 2025 internship application is now open.

To be considered for an internship, you must complete the Survey Monkey application below. Applications sent by email will not be considered. There are no deadlines for internship applications. Positions are open until filled and will be removed once a candidate has accepted the internship offer. If you have any questions, email internships@dshs.texas.gov.

How To Apply

Before applying, applicants should view the Available Internships for the semester. You can find the project descriptions, location, and requirements on this page to find internships that fit your interests and qualifications. You can apply for up to three internships on the online application.

The online application will ask for:

  • An attached resume.
  • Two professional references.
  • Some positions may require a letter of interest.
    • The letter of interest should be approximately a one-page document that covers why you are interested in interning with DSHS and how your skills and experiences fit the internship projects to which you are applying.

A copy of the spring 2025 application can be found here, for reference ONLY.

  • Note that this copy is for Spring 2025, and the internships shown are not guaranteed every semester. Please do not complete the reference copy to apply for the internship. Only Survey Monkey internship applications completed through Survey Monkey will be considered for internships.

NOTE: Some internship projects may need additional information. If so, the respective DSHS office will reach out to you requesting that information.
