Requirements
Requirements by Grade-Level
Requirements are presented here by grade level. Requirements for child care, preschool, prekindergarten, school-age children and young adults entering college can change yearly. Please ensure your child has the proper immunizations for the upcoming school year. The vaccine requirements are adopted as a statewide control measure for communicable disease as defined in Health and Safety Code §81.081 and §81.082. DSHS works with the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services in formulating and implementing the Texas immunization requirements via Texas Education Code, §38.001, Education Code §51.933 and §51.9192, and Texas Human Resources Code, §42.043.
Information about vaccine exemptions can be found on the Exemptions page.
