Texas COVID-19 Surveillance Archives
DSHS has combined the individual weekly flu, RSV, and COVID-19 surveillance reports into one report effective Friday, January 19, 2024. The combined report will be titled the Texas Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report. The combined report contains all the data from the three individual reports and will be posted every Friday on the Texas Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report page.

Summary
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in monitoring Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Multiple sources of data are being used to monitor the situation in Texas.
Between March 6, 2020 and the current report week, 9,030,821 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 were reported in Texas. So far for 2024, 38,018 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 were reported in Texas.

COVID-19 cases reported increased in Texas by 3.1% in Week 2 compared to the previous MMWR week.
COVID-19-associated fatalities increased 30.4% in Week 51 when compared to the previous week. COVID-19-associated fatalities are shown by week during which the death occurred, up to three weeks prior to current report week because death certificates are required to be filed within 10 days of date of death.
Note: Cumulative counts will consistently reflect all cases within the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System as of report date. Counts may include cases which were provided after initial reporting, such as backlogged cases; and reflect regular case quality assurance updates.
