Clinical Care Coordination Consultants
Newborn screening Clinical Care Coordination staff consult with medical specialists throughout the state. When the newborn screening results are abnormal or out of range, families may be referred to one or more of these specialists for their infants to receive further testing and evaluation.

- Pulmonologists (Cystic Fibrosis) Consultants
Pediatric pulmonologists diagnose and manage the treatment of children from birth to 21 years old with breathing conditions and lung diseases.
- Pediatric Metabolic Consultants (Biochemical Genetics)
Metabolic geneticists are doctors who evaluate, manage treatment, and help prevent clinical symptoms of conditions due to genetic defects in human biochemical processes.
- Pediatric Endocrinology Consultants
Endocrinologists are doctors who diagnose and treat diseases that affect the endocrine system which is a group of glands and organs in the body that produce, store and release hormones that help control important body functions.
- Pediatric Immunology Consultants
Immunologists are doctors who diagnose, treat, and help prevent immune system disorders which are conditions that affect the body’s defense system that protects it against disease.
- Pediatric Hematology Consultants
Hematologists are doctors who specialize in hematology, the science or study of blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases.
- Pediatric Neurology and Neurogenetic Consultants (SMA)
Pediatric neurologists are doctors who evaluate, treat, and help prevent clinical symptoms of conditions in the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles.
Pediatric neurogeneticists are doctors who specialize in disorders of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles that are caused by changes in genes or chromosomes.
