Sample/Specimen Type for Testing Stool samples.
Minimum Volume/Size Required at least 500 µL.
Storage/Preservation Prior to Shipping Specimen should be maintained between 2°C–8°C
 
Transport Medium
  • Raw stool
  • Stool treated with PCR compatible fixatives.
Specimen Labeling
  • At least 2 patient specific identifiers: First and last name as one identifier and a DOB or a unique patient specific identifier (e.g. Medical record number).
  • Patient identifiers on specimen must match those on submission form.
Shipping and Specimen Handling Requirements
  • Ship according to Dangerous Goods Regulations, IATA, and/or CFR 49.
  • Specimen identification must match submission form.

Turn-around Time 48 business hours.

Only samples positive for Cyclospora will produce a positive result.
