- Bay waters are collected in clean, sterile, and watertight bottles. An appropriate bottle should be used to contain at least 110 mL of sample and allow head space for shaking.
- Whenever possible, the test should be initiated immediately after the samples are checked in. If not tested immediately, samples must be kept between 0°C and 10°C until examined. In no case shall samples be tested after 30 hours of collection
- A separate sample should be included as a temperature control. Temperature control should be below 10°C. until examined. In no case shall samples be tested after 30 hours of collection.
