HIV CDR – Provider Resources

HIV cluster patients should be cared for the same as every other person living with HIV (PLWH). It is important to continue to stress the importance of HIV care and reaching viral suppression as well as educating on safe sexual practices.

Testing and Treatment

DSHS follows national guidelines in the care and treatment of HIV and STDs. Please refer to the Testing and Treatment page for more information on HIV testing and treatment guidelines.

Reporting HIV Clusters

If you suspect an increase in new diagnoses in your area or clinic, please report this spike to hivstd@dshs.texas.gov. Please include information on your location and any additional details about the increase in diagnoses including trends in demographics or risk patterns.
