Test Description The determination of total available cyanide, which is the sum of the strong acid dissociable, weak acid dissociable, and free cyanide, in samples of drinking water.

Storage/Preservation Prior to Shipping
  • Store in hard or soft plastic or glass container.
  • Measure and record the chlorine residual.
  • Add 100 mg of ascorbic acid to dechlorinate sample and as much sodium hydroxide necessary to achieve pH between 12.0-12.5.
  • Maintain sample at 4.0°C.
  • Some headspace is allowed.
