Mosquito Season is Now, Protect Yourself from Zika
March is the beginning of spring and mosquito season. As the weather gets warmer and you spend more time outdoors, it’s important to protect yourself and loved ones from the Zika Virus and other mosquito-borne illnesses by preventing mosquito breeding and bites.
Texas is on the front lines combating Zika, especially since locally transmitted cases have been identified in the state. DSHS continues to strongly urge Texans to take precautions and follow the updated guidance issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for pregnant women and people traveling to areas with Zika.
