Legislative Reports

Texas Legislature - State flag in the background with gavel in the frontThe Immunizations Section reports biennially to the Texas Legislature regarding the reduction of vaccine-preventable diseases. The Immunizations Section prepares reports on the progress of strategies for improving the health of Texans. We also provide reports on immunization coverage levels across the state. Lawmakers use the reports to make informed decisions based on factual, medically accurate, and evidence-based information.

The Immunizations Section also reports to the Texas Legislature on the number of meningococcal exemption requests processed for students enrolling in public junior and community colleges. The report also includes information about the web portal and the exemption process. The Immunizations Unit submits the report to the Texas Legislature each year.
