DSHS Data Resources
The Center for Health Statistics (CHS) is the data collection and reporting arm of DSHS. Its Texas Health Data dashboard includes vital events, population health, and disease prevalence. As a grant seeker, CHS is a free source of current health data in Texas. Information about public health infrastructure, non-military hospitals, and health professionals is also available. Use CHS Data to help write your next grant’s Statement of Need. The GDC Data Resources page includes additional data sets to support your work.
2024 AARP Livable Communities Workshop
Free, two-day online event on October 16 and 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. CST. This virtual workshop will explore how local leaders can design for people of all ages in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Atmos Energy Corporate Contributions Program (Rolling Basis)

Funding for projects that address complex and upstream drivers of oral health disparities. Digitunity: Technology Donations Program (Rolling Basis)
Nonprofits, government agencies, and schools can register to receive technology donations. Technology recipient organizations must be engaged in education or employment for individuals who are at-risk or marginalized; economically disadvantaged; experiencing homelessness or housing instability; justice-involved; older adults; differently abled; or veterans. The George Foundation (Rolling Basis)
Grants for nonprofits that assist in developing strong, stable, families through education; human needs; health; and community enhancement. Collaborative partnerships are encouraged. Award: Up to $500,000. Geographic Area: Fort Bend County.
Greater Texas Foundation (Rolling Basis, Concept Papers)
The foundation invests in student-centered solutions so that more Texans can achieve their postsecondary goals. Focus on student supports; transfer, transition, and advising; rural collaborations; and Math for Success. Eligible applicants include nonprofits and higher education institutions. The Trull Foundation (Rolling Basis)
Areas of interest include helping children in rural areas, helping people affected by substance abuse, and protecting the coastal Texas environment. Public Funding Announcements
EPA: Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (October 16, 2024)
This planning assistance program helps communities identify strategies to grow their outdoor recreation economy and revitalize their main streets. Award: The program provides technical assistance to help communities develop a vision for community revitalization through the recreation economy. Communities receive targeted facilitation from subject matter experts; connection with local, regional, state, and federal partners; and convening an in-person workshop to develop an action plan. Geographic Scope: Nationwide, special consideration is given to small towns and rural communities.
TCDD: Enhancing Statewide Community Engagement (October 18, 2024)
The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) has issued a Request for Applications for a new grant project to enhance their capacity to conduct engagement and outreach activities across Texas. This project will raise awareness of the capabilities of people with developmental disabilities (DD) while supporting communities and informing policymakers on being responsive to disability needs. Award: One award of $200,000 per year for up to three years. Geographic Scope: Texas.
Texas Historical Commission: FY2025 Certified Local Government Grants (November 4, 2024)
Funding for participating city and county governments to develop and sustain an effective local preservation program critical to preserving historic resources. Award: Reimbursement of eligible expenses. Local match is required in non-federal monies. Geographic Scope: Texas.
NIH: Research on Current Topics in Alzheimer's Disease and Its Related Dementias (November 12, 2024)

EPA: Community Change Grants (November 21, 2024)
EPA is accepting applications for $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funding available to support community-driven projects that build capacity for communities to tackle environmental and climate challenges, strengthen their climate resilience, and advance clean energy. Eligible applicants include a partnership between two nonprofits or a partnership between a nonprofit and a local government, an institution of higher education, or a Federally Recognized Tribe. HUD: Continuum of Care (CoC) Builds (November 21, 2024)
FR-6800-N-25A. The Initiative for Supportive Housing Development (INSiDE) NOFO targets efforts within Continuum of Care (CoC) geographic areas to address and reduce homelessness by adding new units of permanent supportive housing (PSH) through new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation through one-time INSiDE awards under the CoC program. PSH is permanent housing in which supportive services are provided to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness with a disability to live independently. Texas Workforce Commission: Skills Development Fund (Rolling Basis)
Funds for businesses who want to train new workers or upgrade the skills of existing workers. Public community colleges, technical colleges, workforce boards, community-based organizations in partnership with a community college or technical college, or Texas A&M Extension Services (TEEX) may apply. The goal of the program is to upgrade the skill levels and wages of the Texas workforce. Award: Up to $500,000. Geographic Scope: Texas.

TXCDBG: 2025 Community Development Fund (December 9, 2024)
The Community Development Fund is the largest fund category in the TxCDBG program. This fund is available biennially for funding through a competition in each of the 24 state planning regions. Funding to implement evidence-based strategies to ensure that all Texans benefit from cancer prevention knowledge. Projects will include interventions to reduce cancer risk, disease burden, and cancer disparities and address social determinants that contribute to cancer burden and disparities. Applications must include the delivery of interventions to non-metropolitan (rural) and or medically underserved counties in the state. USDA: Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Competitive Grants Program Education and Workforce Development (December 5, 2024)

NIH: Advancing Health Equity through Interventions to Prevent and Address Housing Instability (December 13, 2024)
RFA-NR-25-001. Funds to support research that advances health equity through the development, testing, and evaluation of interventions to prevent and address housing instability. Applicants should develop, test, and evaluate the impact of a housing intervention on health and housing outcomes. TPWD: Recreational Trails (February 1, 2025)
TPWD administers the National Recreational Trails Fund in Texas under the approval of the Federal Highway Administration. This program receives funding from a portion of federal gas taxes paid on fuel used in non-highway recreational vehicles. The reimbursable grants can be up to 80% of total project cost. Funds can be spent on motorized and non-motorized recreational trail projects including construction of new recreational trails; improvement of existing trails; development of trailheads or trailside facilities; and acquisition of trail corridors. TDHCA: Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Weatherization Assistance Program (Open Until Filled)
TDHCA seeks one or more interested organizations to submit applications to administer the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Weatherization Assistance
Program (BILWAP), funded with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funds, in the State of Texas, either statewide or regionally, to multifamily (MF) rental households and shelters.
